Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of WPStats, available at wpstats.org ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of terms

By using WPStats, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to comply with them. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of service

WPStats provides a free WordPress website analysis tool that:

• Fetches publicly accessible information from websites you submit
• Detects WordPress installations, themes, plugins, and versions
• Retrieves speed and performance data from Google PageSpeed Insights
• Analyzes SEO metadata and security configurations
• Provides results via a web interface

The Service is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

3. Permitted use

You may use WPStats to:

• Analyze websites that you own or operate
• Analyze websites for which you have explicit permission from the owner
• Research competitor websites' publicly available information
• Educational purposes, security research, and general WordPress auditing

4. Prohibited use

You must not use WPStats to:

• Automate requests — Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to send requests beyond the manual rate limit
• Circumvent rate limits — Use VPNs, proxies, or IP rotation specifically to bypass the 5-per-day limit
• Unauthorized scanning — Analyze sites in violation of their terms of service or without authorization
• Harmful purposes — Use results to plan or execute attacks, unauthorized access, or harm to analyzed websites
• Illegal activities — Any use that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Scraping our results — Systematically extract or harvest data from WPStats
• Overload the service — Any activity that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure

5. Rate limits and fair use

To ensure fair access for all users, WPStats enforces a limit of 5 analyses per day per IP address. This limit resets every 24 hours.

Deliberately circumventing this limit (e.g., through IP rotation) violates these Terms. We reserve the right to block access from IPs that engage in abusive behavior.

6. Intellectual property

All content on WPStats — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, code, and the design — is the property of WPStats and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

The analysis results provided by WPStats are based on publicly available information. You may use these results for your own purposes but may not reproduce or distribute WPStats's interface or underlying code without permission.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of analysis results
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• That results will identify all security vulnerabilities or SEO issues

Analysis results should be treated as informational only. Always perform your own due diligence before acting on any results provided by WPStats.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WPSTATS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
• Security decisions made based on WPStats results
• Actions taken or not taken based on analysis results
• Service interruptions or data inaccuracies

In jurisdictions that do not allow limitation of liability, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

9. Third-party services

WPStats uses third-party services including Google PageSpeed Insights API and Google Fonts. Your use of WPStats may be subject to the terms and privacy policies of these third parties. We are not responsible for third-party services' availability, accuracy, or practices.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WPStats, its operators, and its contributors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and failing that, through binding arbitration.

12. Changes to terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in behavior that we determine is harmful to the Service, other users, or third parties.
